Submissions are open
Playwrights Canada Press is pleased to announce that submissions are open! We are looking for well-written literary plays with engaging dialogue, interesting characters, and strong themes that incite discussion and analysis, and that focus on contemporary issues.
If that sounds like something you’ve written please head on over to the submission page to check out the new guidelines and for the link to the submission form.
There are some changes from past iterations of the guidelines and we’ve included some answers to common questions on things like translations and adaptations. While we do still require that a play has been produced we’ve expanded that definition to include digital performances.
We will also be opening submission windows this year rather than accepting new scripts year-round. These windows are built around reading periods to give us time to read and assess submissions. This should ensure a more timely response to your play.
