Orders placed on playwrightscanada.com are shipped by our distributor, University of Toronto Press Distribution, usually a few business days after the order is placed. Every effort is made to ensure orders are processed and shipped quickly, however from time to time delays may occur. If you are concerned about the timeline for your order, please contact us at email@example.com or 416-703-0013 before placing the order through the website.
If you've selected your order to be picked up in our Toronto office, we will be in touch as soon as the order is ready. We are generally open from 9 to 5 but suggest calling ahead to make sure someone is available. ** Please note that staff are working remotely and in the office only occasionally during COVID. We are asking customers to book appointments for pickup orders and will contact you to book an appointment when your order is ready to be collected. **
Returns & Replacements
Playwrights Canada Press does not accept returns of orders placed through our online ordering system. If an item was damaged in transit, please contact us at 416-703-0013 or firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for a replacement.
This website accepts payments made by credit card and processed by Paypal. Playwrights Canada Press does not receive or store any financial information, including credit card data.
Pricing & Promotions
As of February 2021, if you are ordering multiple copies of a book—physical copies or ebooks—your cart will update with a discount! The structure is as follows:
2 to 5 copies = 10% off
6 to 10 copies = 15% off
11+ = 20% off
You won’t need to do anything; your cart will automatically update! If for some reason you notice this isn’t working, please contact us before placing your order at email@example.com.
Please note that during site-wide sales, these discounts will be inactive.
We sell ebooks to end-user customers only. When you purchase an ebook from us it is for your own personal use, and not for resale, lending out, or distribution to others. You may transfer the ebook to any of your devices, or print it for your own personal use.
Frequently Asked Questions
I haven’t received my order confirmation email yet. Did it go through?
First, check your spam folder! If you created an account on our website, you can also check there. If none of these places show your order please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm – you may need to place your order again. As well, we have been having trouble with automated emails going through to academic and other servers including those for Hotmail, Outlook, Sympatico, and Live, and are working to try to fix it. In the meantime, if you have another email address, try using that or making sure you sign up for an account to access your information there.
Why haven’t I received my ebook?
In addition to the order confirmation and payment processing messages, you will also get an email that says “Your e-book(s) are ready to download,” which will contain a link in blue text that, once clicked, will automatically start downloading the ebook to your computer. This part is different for every computer and email program – generally it will open a window in your browser, but you may have to head over to your Downloads folder to find it. We title the files of our ebooks by their ISBNs so the file you’re looking for will start with 978.
If you haven’t received the email containing the link or are having trouble, please let us know. We have been having trouble with automated emails going through to academic and other servers including those for Hotmail, Outlook, Sympatico, and Live. If you have an email address associated with that domain, it's possible the email didn't reach you, so please let us know at email@example.com, we will send you the file, or check your account.
I can’t open my ebook – what do I do?
There are a few different answers to this:
- We sell two kinds of ebooks on our website: epubs and pdfs. An epub requires special software or an e-reader such as Google Books, Apple Books, Kobo, etc., to read while pdfs will open up in Reader, Preview, or your browser. (PDFs will work in many e-reading programs as well.) We recommend checking that your software or hardware can read an epub or pdf file before purchasing!
- We have recently heard reports from some customers using Gmail on Chrome that the link to their ebook download isn't working. You should right-click the link to save it, or if you made an account you can access it there. If you're still having trouble, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number and we will send you the appropriate file.
- Ebooks can only be downloaded up to a week after their purchase. If you are trying to access your ebook after this period, please contact us at email@example.com with your order number and we will send you the appropriate file.
How do I access my account?
Click on "Your Cart" at the top of the page. You should then see your name underneath that. Click on your name and you should see your order history and information.
I haven’t received my order of physical books yet – how can I find out its status?
You can contact our distributor, UTP Distribution, by emailing them at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling them at 1-800-565-9523 or 416-667-7791 and quoting your order number, which is a series of nine letters.
I can’t access my account – what happened?
