David Ferry

David Ferry is an award-winning actor, director, and dramaturge. He has worked nationally and internationally in a wide variety of genres of theatre including multi disciplinary/mixed media and site-specific work. He has won several awards, including Dora Awards and Toronto and Victoria Critics Awards. He was commissioned by the Luminato Festival to do a staging of Daniel MacIvor's Inside. He was commissioned by The Young Centre to produce six site-specific scripts performed via cellular phone technology for Luminato. He was commissioned by the Toronto2015 PanAmania festival to develop a site-specific piece, The Postman, which he co-wrote about Albert Jackson, Toronto's first African Canadian postman, which played outdoors on porches in the Brunswick and Palmerston Aves in 2015. He has recently written script material and lyrics for his annual site-specific radiophonic project Short Waves, Short Stories.
