Susan Coyne
Susan Coyne received a history
degree at Queen’s University before studying acting at the National
Theatre School in Montreal. As an actor, she has played leading parts
at the Tarragon Theatre, Soulpepper Theatre Company and the Stratford
and Shaw festivals among others. As a writer, her work includes the
original memoir version of Kingfisher Days, published in 2001;
a new version of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters, produced at
the Shaw Festival (2003); and an adaptation of Chekhov’s Platonov
(with director László Marton, 2001). She also developed and co-wrote
the television series, “Slings and Arrows” for Rhombus Media. She
is a founding member of Soulpepper Theatre Company, and a writer-in-residence
at the Tarragon Theatre.
