Anusree Roy
Anusree Roy was born and raised
in Calcutta, India, before moving with her family to Toronto. Roy is
a recent graduate of the Graduate Centre for Study of Drama at the University
of Toronto. Since graduating she has met with great success with
Pyaasa, winning two Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding New
Play and Outstanding Performance. Roy is currently the playwright-in-residence
at the Canadian Stage Company for the 2009–2010 season where she is
developing her new play, Brothel #9.
