Leanna Brodie

Leanna Brodie is a Vancouver-based actor and playwright who has translated plays by Larry Tremblay, Olivier Sylvestre, Philippe Soldevila, Sébastien Harrisson, Hélène Ducharme (whose acclaimed Baobab continues to tour internationally after 600 performances), and Christian Bégin (5 Jessie nominations for Ruby Slippers Theatre's After Me). Published by Playwrights Canada Press: Rébecca Déraspe's award-winning You Are Happy; Catherine Léger's Opium_37; and Louise Bombardier's My Mother Dog. Two translations will premiere in the 2017-18 season: You Are Happy (GCTC, Ottawa), and Catherine Léger's I Lost My Husband! (Ruby Slippers/Gateway Theatre, Vancouver). Leanna is currently Playwright-in-Residence at Gateway Theatre and an Associate at Playwrights Theatre Centre, working with Jovanni Sy on their new play, Salesman in China. www.leannabrodie.com
